This quote is quite relatable as we at Karly’s Dawta had the pleasure of creating memories with our late mother “Karlene Rose Leon”. Her name did not only incite the start of this business but memories of her cooking and  her love for food. Her love and actions coined the definition of a true mother. Our fondest memory of her is when she introduced me to the kitchen. We created numerous Sunday dinners and breakfast but the most delicious were the Jamaican pastries. As we  ponder about these memories we realize the secret ingredient in cooking with our mother was love.

Growing up as a child I remembered I was always helping my mom in the kitchen. But the most fun memory as a little girl was one Christmas eve, when my mom decided to bake Christmas cake for the very first time. We carefully followed the ingredients from that little red recipe book. To our surprise it was the most delicious and flavorful Christmas cake. It was the beginning of a mother and daughter tradition. Every Christmas eve we baked, even after my mom's passing I still continue the tradition in the family. However the tradition has changed a bit and I'm now using my very own Real Jamaican Fruit Cake Mixed. It is easy and convenient to use in these modern times.

Karly’s Dawta is a small business that creates a delicious and easy baking recipe infused with authentic Jamaican flavor for everyone to enjoy. We pride ourselves in sourcing authentic and fresh Jamaican ingredients to create  cakes, puddings, sauces and sweet spices. While we aim to create a variety of products that cater to the different lifestyles from the health conscious to vegans, gluten free and more.
